We offer a unique programme of dog training and education for children, covering a range of activities from dog body language, safety and healthcare to tricks, obedience and many fun disciplines. All classes are fun, inspiring, engaging and most importantly safe.
How To Get Your Kids Involved In Dog Training
In many respects, teaching children how to interact with their dogs is the equivalent of asking them to be the student and the teacher at the same time. Having to understand the dog’s body language, and learning the boundaries that a dog may have whilst building a trusting relationship that grows as they do.
While the more complicated aspects of dog training are commonly left to the adults of the family, teaching your children the basic commands and how to use them helps make them feel like an important contributor to the training overall. Encouraging your children to give basic commands helps your dog learn to take directions from both children and adults.
When your child has mastered the basics of dog training, they can start to help with the more advanced elements. Working alongside them, we’ll begin to introduce elements of our exclusive Hoopers and Tricks courses for both child and dog to learn alongside one another.

Taking place in Silverdale, Staffordshire our Kids n K9s dog training for kids courses are aimed to create a learning environment that is kind, compassionate and welcoming so kids can feel relaxed and enjoy the training experience with their dog.
As an 8-week course, for children between 7-17 year-olds. We’ll focus on developing obedience skills, dog tricks, scent work and brain games to ensure your child is comfortable and ready to interact with your dog as they grow up.

Helping Your Child Overcome a Fear of Dogs
As a nation of dog lovers, many families find their children to have a fear of dogs. Commonly known as Cynophobia, the fear of dogs in children can develop after an encounter with a dog triggers an extreme emotional response or can be an innate fear for the child.
Having a child that is fearful of dogs can be problematic and distressing especially if you welcome an excitable new puppy into your family. As part of Star Pawformers Kids n K9s, we offer exclusive 1-2-1 support to help your child work through their fear of dogs.
We’ll work alongside your family to help your child understand dog’s body language, teach them how to behave around dogs and work on creating opportunities for positive experiences to grow. Helping children to rationalise their fear with compassion, education and awareness.
